Genus - Wayne McGregor ‘Genus’ by Wayne McGregor was created in 2007 and was performed by Paris Opera Ballet. It was inspired from Charles Darwin’s ‘On the origin of species’ and is based around the theories about humankind. Your vlog is really clear and you spoke really clearly and show that you prepared this well.
ReplyDeleteDid you find using McGregor's tool useful when creating?
Thank you for your comment. I did find using McGregor's creative process useful as it gave me some structure for my choreography, helping me to create movement with specific techniques. I specifically enjoyed trying to spell out a word with movement as it challenged me to think outside of the box and represent letters in different ways.
DeleteThis is a very descriptive vlog which has informed the viewer of your choreographic processes, intensions and many more aspects.

Well done Mhairi this is a very strong blog post.
Thank you for your comment. I think the use of my gestures make the intention of the piece clearer to the audience and so they can understand the piece more. I think the by using my facial expression, showing pain and sadness will enhance the performance and again help me to successfully show the intention of the piece to the audience.
